Were Mike Myers to write a new Austin Powers movie any time soon, he would need look no further than Liverpool's Candie Payne to provide the soundtrack. Coming on like a 21 st -century Nancy Sinatra, everything about this ball-busting single is glorious - Payne's delicate vocals leaving a string of heartbroken men in her wake. Add this to drum breakdowns that can only be described as "groovy", a smouldering horn section, and a guitar sound to make Edwyn Collins weep, and what we have left is a simply irresistible song. Feel free to listen, be prepared to fall in love - but don't complain when she leaves you out to dry. 5/5Ben Duncan |
