Listening to this song, you can imagine lead singer Juanita Stein to have the presence that turns heads the minute she walks into any bar. On "Low Happening", her vocals are effortlessly sexy, the insistent rhythm section underpinning her perfectly - crafting a single that snakes its way into your brain and refuses to leave. Like The Duke Spirit, Australia's Howling Bells are able to infuse their music with the spirit of crackling vinyl while still sounding relevant. "You watch me, I watch you" Stein coos across the crowded bar, but we've already fallen under her spell. Understated, but seductive, this is a band that commands your attention and refuses to disappoint.
