My Sleeping Thoughts

My Sleeping Thoughts is a three-piece electro band from the United Kingdom. We are Freddie Erasmus (vocals),
Mick Walker (keyboards, sequencer) and Mark Winter (drums)

The last two years have been very exciting for us. In 2005 we released our first single WAVES, this is a fusion of various streams of contemporary electro, culminating in a unique and distinctive blend of sounds. By June of last year we had already progressed to the release of our fourth single, MADELAINE, which was well received by various radio stations across the UK.

We have recently been in the studio and completed our sixth single GLOW that is scheduled for airplay across the U K next month. This is our second release this year and we keep on going from strength to strength.

Duzent Matta

Duzent Matta

Duzent Matta are a "heavy rock" band based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, currently writing, recording and preforming original material. A four piece band playing catchy tunes built around powerfull but melodic   vocals over the top of inventive solos and heavier riffs. and thundering basslines. It is all backed up by the fast beats often described as "Pearl Jam" esque! They put on a fearsome live show where the great arrangements pick up an ever growing fan base. The band have recently recorded a 3 track demo for   promotion and sales at gigs.

Dont take my word for it catch them soon at a venue near you.............

Mannequins

Spring 2007, a chance conversation, a hastily arranged rehearsal and a realisation that this was how it was meant to sound and this was how it was always meant to be. The new improved Mannequins will continue to play to packed houses up and down the country taking their songs to a new level and ever increasing audience, backed as always by a devoted following from their native East London. Lee Bonington has a master class in song writing with a guitar sound as raw and sharp as you've heard, backed by the irrepressible Chris Stevens on bass, with honorary Mannequin, Brendan Ivie, on drums, they have never sounded better or promised so much. Mannequins - Hearts (and soul) on the March.

Prophesy .

Prophesy

Prophesy are a four piece Alternative/Metal band from the southend area. Tom McFarlane - Vocals Will Gatenby - Guitars Robb Clifton - Drums Marshall Gregory - Bass They formed in early 2004 as 'No Hope'.

Will Gatenby (guitar) and Tom Mcfarlane (vocals) met up with a few people and started the band during secondary school. Once Robb Clifton (drums) and Marshall Gregory (bass) had joined 'No Hope', and following a couple of member changes, the band started to write their own songs. Gradually the music moved towards metal and a heavier style, and the band renamed themselves as Prophesy. The band recorded their first Demo in 2005 at Nightfly Studios in southend, and gained more experience from more gigs and a gradually growing audience. Since the first demo, the band have developed a more unique sound creating their own style, and decided to return to the studio to record the new tracks. The new Demo, 'Not quite Human' was recorded early 2007 at Jigga Jam Studios, Corringham.

Last Year’s Resolution

Matt Hall - Vocals, Lyrics - Andy Harper – Guitar - Dave Bentall – Bass - Joe Simpson –Drums

The latest line up of Last Year’s Resolution has been in existence for a year now since the arrival of new vocalist Matt. Since then we have been locked away at every opportunity writing new material. Also we have played some local gigs at the Chinnerys as well as acoustic sets at the utopia and the sunrooms in southend. We recorded a 6 track demo at 8 ball studios in Jan of 2007 and after putting things on hold momentarily because of uni commitments we are back and gearing up to play some more gigs and record some new material. The important thing for us is to keep the music original and make sure that we all enjoy playing it. Thank you for supporting independent music.

hey molly

Hey Molly are a four and a half piece band, that hail from a certain Devonshire seaside resort. Whilst waiting for the tourists to come back, Hey Molly decided to make music to brighten the place up a little. In the last 12 months we have had the pleasure to play with Muse, The Automatic, Mum-ra and Jack Penate. A Lamaq In The City show in Exeter back in October was a catalyst for a recently completed two week European tour. Songs to make your feet move, songs to watch on Youtube. Songs that many on Albert Square would be happy to eat their breakfast to. Songs that Johnny Borrell wished he had in him. Songs that make people have sex with the people they always wanted to have sex with. Songs that unite, songs that cause fights. Songs about casually strolling to the bar only to be subjected to a barrage of abuse by those big fish in their little ponds. Songs that if we compared them to anyone else you might just disagree. Best go and have a listen then…

All gig listings and events will be here on myspace or at www.heymolly.co.uk

The Rips .

THE RIPS

The Rips were formed in the early part of 2003, and by their numerous appearances at venues in and around London, are rapidly establishing themselves as one of the leading underground bands around today.Their approach to the music is far closer to the raw, hard driving rock and roll of years gone by when music was real than the majority of the bands currently riding the band wagon, and its probably their refusal to compromise their music to match the 'current sound' that has gained them their legions of loyal fans and support slots with artists such as the infamous Mr Pete Doherty, the legendary Inspiral Carpets and an up and coming slot on the 2007 Secret Garden Festival with a line up that features the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen. Noisettes & Dogs, amongst other great artists. Their performances have an honesty and power about them that make those of their contemporaries look pale in comparison and leaves the future looking very bright

Candy panic attack

"Y'know all this bollocks going on at the moment about these indie bands being 'straight talking' because they talk about putting out the bins in their songs? Well they should listen to these lot - snotty punks, a real English accent and instruments played brilliantly haphazardly!" Alex, Shadowplay zine

"The songs are short and snappy.. a feel good, raw punk with a pop friendly undertone to it."
Lucia, Comfortcomes.com

"Whether by accident or design, Candy Panic Attack's CD even smells sweet! These 3 tracks of lo-fi riot grrrl punk rock resemble a grungier version of Helen Love, and mighty fine they are too. Fans of The Slits, Bikini Kill and the like, are sure to enjoy the short, sharp ditties by this tasty three piece. They also have the best logo ever"
Sophia, Noisy zine

"riot grrrl love-heart crunchy sugar rush home-made very DIY lo-fi for fans of Huggy Bear and The Raincoats and Pussy Face and The Smears..." Sean, Organ

"Mixing punk, riot grrl & joyful ineptitude with fizzy pop tunes that go nicely with a cup of tea & a sherbet dip-dab." Us

chop chop bear touch

TASTY FANZINE LIVE REVIEW - "An altogether different proposition, Chop Chop Bear Touch look like the result of some bizarre band-splicing incident but happily turn out to be as bizarrely entertaining as their name. An unwieldy five-piece comprised of two metal-heads content to get lost in their own hair and two other randoms, the glue holding the whole car-crash together comes in the form of one Dave Salisbury, who not only resembles a bear but who's random forays into the crowd remind me of an autistic child let loose in a supermarket. Or something like that. Indeed, their brand of hoary old 80s rock-metal fusion could quite easily be awful was it not for the distinctly haphazard nature of their performance. Sailisbury chooses to bellow the choruses rather than attempt any kind of singing, and his genial rapport with the audience means you can't help but like him. Imagine Faith No More without some lunatic drinking piss out a shoe and that's a good starting point."

Jodie Lenton

Jodie Lenton is singer/songwriter and has been singing for about 7 years. She is currently working with Michael Raphael from Los Angeles who has worked with Busted and Son of Dork. She originally did more musical theatre but as she's getting older she has decided to try and break into the music industry trying to do something a little bit different to everyone else. She have also danced for 10 years and have had lots of experience on stage and on TV.
She has recently made a five track demo and I am going to Los Angeles in the summer to record more songs. My hobbies include cross country, playing the drums and of course dancing, drama and singing.

  Ice Cream Social

Conceived while frequenting Stonehenge, the illegitimate lovechild that is now known as Ice Cream Social teethed its way into the world with lustrous loins and a fiery belly. Not many moons after said conception, the band was featured as James Jam’s ‘Pick of the Week’ above Bombay Bicycle Club and Bit by Bats. Soon after this crandicitive tremor, the band had their first gig at the local church, which was received with lots of praise. Following up this blasphemous backpack was the band’s infamous gig at Estonia.

Touring their local city, Ice Cream Social felt at a loss without overpriced recordings and frisked the local yellow pages. Upon finding a recording studio, they recorded their songs better than before. They recorded their songs with one microphone before.

They called the EP ‘Captain Jedi & The Pale Whale’ after a member’s parents had a spurious smashthrough. They were locked out. With no key. Ice Cream Social later received a support slot at their local SU venue and they saw that it was good. Bin?

Here are some reviews of the EP:

Makes Chundry look like a walk in the park – Daniel Arden
Ice Cream Social, more like I cream for social – Crème Crèche
Class Smasher, Crunk Smackular – Daniel Arden
Makes Chundry look like a wark in the park – Mr. Schmoose

Elders

Elders were formed in the summer of 2006 and consist of 4 individuals with the drive and ambition to construct thoughtful and sincere, ambient heavy rock songs. We aren't afraid to experiment and constantly try to push the boundaries of our music. We are influenced by an array of genres ranging from metal to classical to experimental music. Due to a recent line up change we are seeking a vocalist that preferably plays keyboard. A vocalist with a good range, a distinctive voice and the ability to scream is preferable. Commitment is a must. Give us a shout if you think you're up for the challenge.
